Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Alto Consulting AS handles information when you use the Lær Analogklokka application on Google Play.

Information We Collect

Lær Analogklokka does not require a user account and does not collect direct identifiers such as name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, messages, or precise location through the app.

The app collects and processes limited data in the following categories:

• Local app data: gameplay progress, completed levels, resume state, attempt statistics, language choice, audio settings, purchase entitlement, and other app preferences. This data is kept in the app's private storage. If Android backup is enabled for the device, the Android operating system may include eligible local app data in the user's encrypted backup or device transfer; Alto Consulting does not receive or access that backup
• App activity: app and screen opens, level starts and completion, subtask progress, wrong and correct answers, attempt counts, level abandonment, locked content and paywall interactions, experiment assignment, and purchase flow events
• Approximate location: Google Analytics derives coarse location, such as country or region, from a masked IP address. The app does not request Android location permission and does not collect precise location
• Technical identifiers and metadata: a Firebase app-instance or installation identifier, basic app and device metadata such as app version, operating system and device model, and a pseudonymous self-hosted analytics client identifier. The self-hosted identifier is the first 22 characters of a SHA-256 hash of a random installation UUID; the full UUID is not transmitted
• Experiment allocation: Google App Set ID, or a locally generated fallback identifier if App Set ID is unavailable, is used on the device to assign an experiment group. The raw App Set ID or fallback identifier is not sent to Alto Consulting's analytics server; only the resulting group and identifier-source label are logged
• Purchase history: Google Play Billing provides product identifier, price and currency information, purchase state, and purchase token or related technical purchase information needed to start, confirm, acknowledge, unlock, and restore a one-time purchase. Alto Consulting's analytics records the product identifier, purchase state, outcome, and any billing error code, but does not receive payment card or bank account details
• We do not use the Android Advertising ID

How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above to:

• run the app and save progress locally on the device
• measure how the app is used, including where users stop or drop off in levels
• test different lock placements for later levels in order to evaluate a one-time purchase model
• process, confirm, acknowledge, and restore one-time purchases made through Google Play
• improve content, progression, and user experience

The app is designed to help children learn to read an analog clock. We do not use analytics data for advertising or ad personalization.

Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell or rent personal information. Limited data may be processed by the following service providers in order to operate the app:

• Alto Consulting's self-hosted analytics service at tyken.net, including a self-hosted Splunk instance on infrastructure controlled by Alto Consulting, for pseudonymous app-usage and purchase-flow measurement. The app's analytics data is not sent to Splunk Cloud
• Google Firebase / Google Analytics for Firebase for app measurement and usage analytics
• Google Play Billing / Google Play for one-time in-app purchases and purchase restoration
• We may also disclose information if required by law

These providers process data for Alto Consulting or as the Google Play payment platform. We do not share app data with third parties for advertising. The app does not display ads, Google signals and Google Analytics sharing with Google products and services are disabled, app-level advertising-personalization signals are disabled, and we do not use the Android Advertising ID.

Data Security

Data sent by the app to Alto Consulting, Firebase / Google Analytics, and Google Play is encrypted in transit using HTTPS or TLS. We take reasonable measures to design the app with minimal data handling, and the app does not require a user login. However, no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Data Retention

• Gameplay progress, settings, local identifiers, and purchase entitlement remain in the app's private storage until the app is uninstalled or its storage is cleared. Copies included in an Android backup are controlled by the user and Google under the user's Android and Google backup settings
• Self-hosted analytics events are queued locally until delivered or removed by the queue limits. After delivery, raw events are retained on Alto Consulting's self-hosted analytics infrastructure for up to 365 days
• The Google Analytics property is configured to retain event-level data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months, with the user-data period reset by new activity. Standard aggregated reports may be retained longer under Google Analytics' policies
• Purchase and payment records are retained by Google Play according to Google's policies

Your Choices

Lær Analogklokka does not require an account, so there is generally no account profile to access or delete.

• You can remove locally stored app data by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage in Android settings
• You can manage or remove Android device backups through your Android and Google account backup settings
• You can manage payment methods, purchases, and subscriptions through your Google Play / Google account settings
• The current app does not include a switch to disable analytics collection. Analytics and pseudonymous identifiers are therefore collected as part of normal app use. Purchase-history data is collected only if a parent or user starts or restores a purchase
• Because the app has no account and does not expose a user-linked analytics identifier, Alto Consulting generally cannot identify a particular user's pseudonymous analytics events in response to a deletion request. Raw analytics is instead deleted according to the retention periods above. You can still contact us with privacy questions or a request, and we will assess what can reasonably be located and deleted

Children's Privacy

Lær Analogklokka is intended for children. We do not knowingly collect direct personal information from children through the app. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, photos, messages, or precise location through the app.

Analytics is limited to pseudonymous app usage, coarse location derived by Google Analytics, technical app and device metadata, and purchase measurement. We do not show ads, we do not use ad personalization, and we do not use the Android Advertising ID.

Permissions

Lær Analogklokka supports Google Play Billing for one-time purchases. The app does not request Android permissions such as camera, microphone, storage, contacts, or location access.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be effective when we post the updated policy on this page.
